Frank John Pelz (1881-1933) from Kolin, Bohemia married Pauline Rohlicek (1886-1954) from Manovice, Bohemia on February 21, 1911 in St. Wenceslaus Church. Their son Frank (1912-1988) and Helen (1915-2017) were members of Sokol Baltimore. Frank Pelz, JR. (Skip) has been a member for nearly 60 years and lives in Denver.
Frank John Pelz established a music store at 2122 Ashland Avenue prior to 1918. After Mr. Pelz died in 1933, his son helped his mom, Pauline, run the store. The store was sold to the city in 1969.
As the years progressed the row houses on the north side of Ashland Avenue deteriorated. The music store and its east and west neighbors were renovated and opened in December 2021 as the East Baltimore Historical Library.
